Summary of Attractions:

Serengeti National Park is the staging-zone for one the most spectacular events in the natural world: the annual migration of millions of wildebeest. This commences around June when over 1 million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle head for the Maasai Mara in Kenya in search of pasture. They are followed closely by the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures. The Serengeti also has over 500 species of birds.

The first view of the Ngorongoro Crater is breath taking. The huge caldera (collapsed volcano) covering 25 km in size and 600m deep is an amazing site of the crater. The crater is home to Tanzania’s only remaining Black Rhino population. The elephant, Hippo, Zebra, Antelope, Gazelle, and small creatures such as frogs, snakes and serval cats are also common in this beautiful reserve. The Maskat Soda Lake located inside the crater is a great attraction for flamingos and other water birds making the crater a bird watcher’s haven. The crater is also known for its rich history. It is believed that the earliest sign of mankind (the homo-habilis) was spotted here. It is in this crater that hominid footprints are preserved in a volcanic rock 3.6 m years old.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi (JKIA) 12.30pm – Arusha (Kilimanjaro Airport) 1.35pm – Serengeti National Park (2.30pm flight which arrives at 5.05pm)

Meet and greet at the Crowne Plaza Hotel located within Nairobi by “Marascarface Travelers Representative” for transfer to the Wilson Airport to board the flight to Arusha, Tanzania which departs at 12.30pm and lands at Arusha Kilimanjaro Airport at 1.35pm. Upon arrival, you will have ample time to be transferred to another flight which departs from Kilimanjaro Airport to the Great Serengeti at 2.30pm. You will land at the Great Serengeti (Seronera Airstrip) at approximately 5.05pm at which time you will be met by the lodge driver who will transfer you to the lodge for rest, dinner and overnight.

Day 2 and 3: Serengeti National Park

Spend 2 full days with in the Great Serengeti enjoying game drives. Every day after early breakfast, you will spend the day exploring the park with morning and afternoon game drives which give you a chance to spot the big five, wildebeest, numerous plains game and bird life. You may opt to have lunch at the lodge or carry packed picnic lunch to eat during the game drives. In the evening you will be transferred back to the lodge for rest, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater Rim (road transfer)

Spend the morning within the Great Serengeti viewing wildlife and exploring the park, visiting possible areas which you never visited the day before, with the help of your expert safari driver / guide. Break for lunch at your lodge then check out at around 3pm for road transfer to Ngorongoro Crater Rim, where you will spend the evening at leisure at your lodge. The crater rim is very scenic and if you wish, you may go for an evening walk within the vicinity of the lodge, and if necessary, you may seek the guidance of the local hotel guide.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Tour

After early breakfast, depart from the lodge with packed picnic lunch and depart for a tour of the crater floor, which is home to numerous plains game and the big five. Spend the day within the crater and have lunch at one of the famous picnic spots in the park. In the evening, you will ascend back to the crater rim and into your lodge for rest, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha – Kilimanjaro Airport (3.30pm) – Nairobi – (4.30pm)

After early breakfast, you will prepare to check out of the lodge for transfer by road to Arusha, where you will arrive for lunch. After lunch, you will bid your Tanzania Guide / driver farewell after he transfers you to Kilimanjaro Airport to catch the 3.30pm flight back to Nairobi, arriving at 4.30pm. Upon arrival at Nairobi, you will meet with our Company representatives for a cup of coffee and farewell speech as you are transferred to your International departures section to check in for your outbound flight to your next destination which departs at 10.00pm.
